Tulsa Job Market Sees 115 Employee Boost

There is no doubt the Tulsa job market is in need of new opportunities for skilled workers. The good news is that some companies are expanding or start ups are happening. The announcement from Direct Energy this week is good news for those who are looking for an opportunity to enter the jobs market in Tulsa.

Direct Energy, one of the leading companies in the area, announced it will hire an additional 115 employees throughout the Tulsa area over the next few months. It will be hosting a jobs fair to help it to find qualified professionals.

Though the company has not said all details of what the jobs will be, it does state that the Tulsa jobs will be to help in the expansion of the company's customer operations center. The organization plans to add jobs that will account for about $7 million in wages. Some of the positions will include information technology jobs, contract management jobs and training positions in Tulsa.

The company noted that it needs to hire people that will help it to stay competitive in the market and that these people will come from a range of unique backgrounds. Some entry-level positions will be available as well. The company, which already employs about 160 people, is an important natural gas and electricity retailer in the region.

The Tulsa job fair will be on December 6, from 4 to 7 pm. It will be held at the Direct Energy offices in the CityPlex Towers on 81st Street. The positions will not be immediately available in all cases, but will be spread over the first quarter of 2012.
